Uniformisation des programmes ambulatoires d’arthroplastie totale de la hanche au Canada : contribution des infirmières en soins périopératoires

La diminution de la durée des séjours pour une arthroplastie totale de la hanche dans les hôpitaux et les cliniques chirurgicales du Canada a mené à la création de programmes ambulatoires pour cette opération. Cependant, l’uniformisation des lignes directrices cliniques sur l’arthroplastie en ambulatoire sur la base de la contribution des infirmières en soins périopératoires dans les hôpitaux et cliniques chirurgicales du Canada n’a pas été abondamment étudiée. Le présent article porte sur les faits, les normes cliniques, les trajectoires et les pratiques organisationnelles rattachés aux critères de sélection des patients. Il traite également du soutien en milieu familial, des dynamiques dans l’équipe de soins aux patients de cliniques chirurgicales du Canada suivis en externe suite à une arthroplastie, et de l’influence du niveau de soins infirmiers périopératoires requis pour ces programmes, à ce jour. Les articles sur les patients externes et les trajectoires rattachées à cette opération dans les hôpitaux et les salles d’opération du Canada font ressortir des constats importants ainsi que les domaines à étudier et à uniformiser davantage, en plus des défis et obstacles associés à leur mise en œuvre dans les systèmes de santé canadiens.
